Local Authority Planning PermissionLandscape planning permission organised by Plan2plant

Planning for landscape forms an important part of any development. Existing trees and shrubs should be protected where appropriate, and new ones planted and maintained to promote wildlife and ecology.

Our landscape schemes to the Local Authority contain a full planting plan drawn to scale. The report aims to satisfy the planning permission conditions required before full consent can be granted, and is usually submitted prior to commencement of works on site. The report contains the following important considerations:

  • Protection of existing trees, shrubs, hedges and soil protection of potential new planting sites, together with site setting out, contractor’s access and layout.
  • Appropriate new tree, shrub, and hedge planting with size specification and method/season of planting.
  • The likely impact of screening and shading not only to the proposed development but also to adjacent homes.
  • Choice of hard landscape materials including sustainable paving, surface water drainage on front driveways and patios, retaining walls and fencing materials.
  • Maintenance of the new landscape plants for a set period of time, including tree pruning, irrigation, hedge trimming and replacement plants for any that do not thrive.
